Hence, they are looking for donations of old glasses. Please drop off old glasses either in the Mt Albert Baptist Church church office (732 New North Rd Mt Albert), or email us and we can pick them up. Fen would also appreciate your prayers as she prepares for the trip, and please pray that sufficient funds will be raised. Please also pray that organisation for the trip will...read more
With the passing of our cat “Huey” in June, we decided to get a kitten after we got back from SF. “Rocky” is of the Maine Coon breed originating from Maine, New England, USA. They were almost extinct until some keen breeders rallied great interest in these medium-haired cats. Maine Coon’s are a very ‘cool’ breed as they are highly intelligent (Rocky ‘sits’ and ‘stands’ on command) and are the largest domesticated cat breed growing up to 1.2 m long and up to 10kgs in weight.  read more

Fen attended a Emergency Medicine conference at Fisherman’s Wharf for a few days, but got to join us for many activities including a tour through Alcatraz Island, about 1/2 dozen crossings of the Golden Gate ...read more

About 6 weeks ago we bought some swan plants hoping to entice some Monarch Butterflys to lay some eggs and allow us to watch their caterpillars grow. Within a day there were eggs laid followed a few days later by many caterpillars hatching and starting to eat the leaves of the plant. At one stage there were up to 40-50 caterpillars, so many that they ate all the plant leaves we had so we had to go buy more plants! After a couple of weeks of eating and rapid growth we had to cull a significant number as their were just too many and we had to...read more
My first day of school was traumatic, even 34 years later I can visually recall watching my mother walking away and feeling abandoned and lost. Fortunately, for H&D parting with us for their first day was full of excitement. Having been to 3 different preschools over the past 2 years and having had orientation to Gladstone Primary made things a lot easier for them. We requested that they be placed in separate classes to encourage their independence and allow them to make different friends. ...read more
